Slow execution

CloudQA’s execution engine runs in the cloud and is fast, but a few things can still slow a run.

Common reasons

1. Screenshots. CloudQA captures every screen during a run and stores it in the cloud, which adds time. If you don’t need screenshots, turn them off in Preferences for faster runs.
2. A long test case. Long tests take longer to run. Keep a test to around 30 steps so it stays easy to debug and maintain. See Best practices.
3. Where the run starts. The location where the execution is started affects how long it takes.
4. Your internet speed. A slow connection can lengthen a run.
5. Your application’s load time. Slow loading of your application’s resources causes delays.
6. Waits and delays. Pause steps and the application-level step delay add to each run.
