TestRail

The TestRail integration links a test in TestRail to a test in CloudQA. Suite run results appear in TestRail, so you can see manual and automated results in one place.

  1. Sign up and log in. If you don’t have an account, create a TestRail account, then log in.
  2. Create a project. Open Projects in the top navigation, select Add Project and follow the instructions.
  3. Create an API key.
    1. Go to Administration, then My Site.
    2. Open the API tab and select Enable API.
    3. Also select Enable API for individual users, so each user can have a personal key.
    4. Go to My Settings, then API Keys, and select Add.
    5. Name the key, for example CloudQA, and select Add API Key.
    6. Copy the key before you leave the page. You need it in CloudQA.
  4. Add test cases. In your project, open Test Cases and select Add Test Case. Enter a name and any steps, preconditions and expected results. The name must match the name of the corresponding test case in CloudQA.

You only do this once.

  1. Gather your TestRail details: API URL, username, API key and project ID.
  2. Add the integration. In CloudQA, open Settings, select the Integrations tab, select TestRail and enter your details.
  3. Run your tests. After CloudQA tests are mapped to TestRail test cases, run your CloudQA test suites. Results are sent to TestRail when they finish.
  4. View results. In TestRail, open Test Runs and select the run that matches your CloudQA test. Each test case’s status is shown there.
