Synthetic monitoring
Synthetic monitoring runs your recorded test cases on a schedule against your live application. It checks that critical flows such as sign-in and purchase journeys keep working and that pages stay fast, including during low-traffic periods when real users might not notice a problem.
CloudQA uses the same recorded test cases for monitoring that you use for regression testing, so you don’t build monitors from scratch. With synthetic monitoring you can:
- Simulate business-critical journeys by replaying recorded test cases.
- Confirm that your application is available and performing well.
- Cut troubleshooting time by comparing many test executions, objects, dependencies and events.
Set up monitoring
Section titled “Set up monitoring”CloudQA can monitor both test case flows and URLs.
- Open Synthetic Monitoring and add a test case.
- Search for and select the test case, set the frequency and save.
- Select the test case to view its results.
Review results
Section titled “Review results”Results include:
- Availability analysis and performance analysis
- The SLA report and KPI trends
- Execution information
- Step results: select a status to open the step results page
To be alerted when a monitored flow fails or slows down, set up monitoring notifications and threshold values.
